How to become an expert

The following requirements must be met by anyone who wishes to be included into the list of experts:

Individuals

Individuals

  • Technical, technological or professional training, related to the corresponding specialty.
  • Accreditation of experience, no less than five (5) years in the specialty for which the candidate is requesting registration.
  • Have a professional license, in the case of professions that impose such a requirement.
  • Have a current merchant registration, if a commercial individual.
  • The candidate must not have been excluded from the list of justice aids.
  • Candidates must not have a history of legal or disciplinary problems, or any such issues in effect at the time of their registration

All necessary documentation must be provided, in order to meet the requirements for individuals

  • The registration form for individuals must be properly filled out and delivered.
  • Signed agreement letter in which candidates state that they know, respect and are committed to fulfilling the behavioral requirements set forth by Law and by the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation.
  • Photocopy of Colombian Personal ID.
  • Copy of the professional license, in the case of professions that impose such a requirement.
  • Certificate issued by the corresponding institution stating that the candidate has not been penalized professionally, in the case of professions that allow for such penalties.
  • Copy of the graduation minutes or diploma accrediting the candidate's technical, technological or professional studies, as well as specialization, master's degree or PhD, or any such documents accrediting any informal education and training whenever applicable.
  • All other certificates and documents accrediting the candidate's suitability as an expert
Legal Persons / Companies

Legal Persons / Companies 

  • Accreditation of experience, no less than five (5) years in the specialty for which the candidate is requesting registration.
  • Have a current merchant registration, if a commercial company.
  • The candidate must not have been excluded from the list of justice aids.
  • Candidate companies must not have a history of disciplinary or fiscal problems in effect at the time of their registration.
  • The company must have carried out its activities in good standing for a period not lower than five (5) years from the time of its establishment.
  • The company cannot be in the process of being liquidated

All necessary documentation must be provided, in order to meet the requirements for companies

  • The registration form for companies must be properly filled out and delivered.
  • Signed agreement letter in which candidates state that they know, respect and are committed to fulfilling the behavioral requirements set forth by Law and by the Center of Arbitration and Conciliation; it must be signed by the company's legal representative.
  • Certificate of existence and legal representation of the company issued by the corresponding authority not older than three (3) months. Candidate companies must provide this certificate if they are not registered with the CCB.
  • Certificates expressly stating the time, word done and experience in the specialties the candidate company is requesting registration for

 

Registration process:

  • Read and follow the instructions below in order for the documentation provided to properly meet the requirements.
  • On the list of specialties, choose those you are accredited in.
  • Fill out the registration form and attach the documents.
  • File your registration request in either on the third floor of our Salitre Enterprise Center and Venue, or on the fifth floor of our Chapinero Enterprise Center and Venue, and it will be assessed by the Arbitration Court within the time frame defined for such proceeding.
